It seems inevitable, living out here in the sticks, my dog is going to run into at least one skunk in his lifetime. Most of us around here know the concoction to help getting ‘our buddy’ back up and running, and smelling like, well, a dog. Here are the ingrediants to the magic ‘deskuning’ potion:
- Water
- 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 teaspoon liquid soap
Firstly, wet your puppy dog down with water and work the potion thru his hair. Next, leave the mixture on for about 5 minutes and rinse.
You can also try the old ‘soaking your dog in tomato juice’ in the bathtub. Also, many if not all, pet stores carry many different skunk-odor removal products. It is a more common phenomenon than you may think.
