The Signs of Rabies in Puppy Dogs

by puppy on June 9, 2007

Rabies is point blankly, a deadly disease in which there is no known cure for. Puppy dogs that are diagnosed with rabies usually only have a few days to live, with the longest being about 14 days.

There are basically two forms of rabies that may appear in dogs – “dumb rabies” and “furious rabies” (both which are not technical terms).

When a dog has dumb rabies, muscular paralysis takes it over. You will notice changes in the sound of the bark, inability to breathe, excessive drooling, and an inability to drink due to it’s jaw hanging open.

With furious rabies, as one may assume, dogs will begin to become angry. They begin to roam and act aggressively towards just about everything, including people, other animals, and even inanimate objects.

As depressing as it is to even write this post, it is more important that a dog owner know these signs, as a protection to themselves, family, and other household pets. Hopefully you shall never witness this terrible disease.
