10 Steps To Dog Photography

by puppy on January 2, 2010

I am a photo lover. I have photo’s all over my house and a family album for every event. I really think photos can capture the moment and then you can revisit it anytime and feel like you are in the moment again. I especially love taking family photos with all our animals in them. It is really neat when you get a really good one of the whole family and the dogs. Let’s be honest, it is hard enough to get all family members to take a good photo. Now I am starting to realize that it is easier with dogs then people. I know our dog, Molly, loves to get her photo taken. She will always somehow walk in every photo. You might get her tail or part of her nose, but she is in it. We always look at those and laugh.

Here are some tips that I have written to help get some really great photos of your pets.

Our dogs are very much a part of the family, and we love to share our leisure time and special occasions with them. This means that we like to include them in our family photo album. However, photographing our dogs isn’t always easy, and it can take practice to get the best results. Here are some suggestions to help you take the best photo possible of your dog:

1. Train your dog. Having a dog that will sit and stay when you ask him to will mean you can take your time when you go to push that shutter button. Because you know he won’t move, you don’t need to rush and take a less than perfect “grab shot” because he’s just about to get up and wander off. The other advantage of training him is that you can photograph him without his leash and collar ruining his good looks.
