We all hate dealing with a fussy eater. This is especially true when our kids do it and now our dogs have taken to this bad habit. This is a habit that is learned from being spoiled and knowing how to work their master a little bit. Don’t get me wrong, there are several cases where there is a deeper problem and a veterinarian needs to examine the dog to find the real problem. I am talking about if you dog has good health and would rather eat human food than dog food. They get a little taste of what you are eating and their dog food doesn’t look too appealing to them anymore. This becomes a problem when you really want them to eat their dog food and they won’t.
I have written some tips on dealing with a fussy eater:
Some dogs are fussy. They’ll turn their noses up at anything other than the best steak, or a finely diced chicken breast. This can be very frustrating for their owner, and also very expensive. Small dogs in particular can be very selective when it comes to their menu.
In many cases, puppies are allowed to become fussy because their owners are taken in by their big brown eyes. Puppies quickly learn that if they refuse to eat dog food for long enough, their owners will take away the bland dog food, and provide them with something a whole lot tastier.

Liz, my jack russell is incredibly fussy. My husband sometimes spoon feeds her, which I suppose just encourages her fussiness.
My dog isn’t so much a picky eater but he likes to eat on his time rather than when I put his food in the bowl. He usually waits about an hour and then starts eating.
