You might read this topic and think what??? I will tell you that is a problem with some dog owners. Sometimes this is not done intentionally. You may be having a glass of wine and leave it out and your furry friend comes by and has a little drink of it thinking it is just water. There are other cases that are very sad and disturbing. This is when owners actually give their pet these things to see how they will react. Obviously, the pet owners have to be intoxicated to do something so mean and harmful to their own dog. Moral of the story is that this is very cruel to do to any animal. You wouldn’t want anyone to slip you something you didn’t know you were having.
I have written written a few tips in dealing with a dog that has ingested drugs or alcohol:
It’s not uncommon for dogs to be presented to their veterinarian with vague symptoms including drowsiness, staggering and sometimes vomiting. After examining the dog, and questioning the owner, some of these dogs are diagnosed as being drunk or stoned!Who would knowingly give their dogs illicit drugs? No doubt there are some who would do that, but in many cases, these dogs accidentally get intoxicated.
