They are very pretty dogs. I worry that an inexperienced dog owner would buy one of these as a status symbol. Exotic breeds like this are not usually “beginner dogs.”

I’ve been living with my first pit for about 2 months now and I can’t describe how incredibly sweet she is. She’s a foster coming from an abusive family and apart from the physical scarring, she bears no sign of her past. Even my neighbor’s two 4-year-old girls love this gentle giant.

Another Great post Susan! We always had to watch our lab when he was young and lanky. When he started getting tired we would have to take him inside so he could not continue to run like crazy. If we did not take him in he would not stop until he would somehow manage to hurt his ankle!
