They are apparently not at all impressed by the results. Their complaints about the wifi fence are that it has a very inconsistent boundary and that the system does not work well with obstacles. So apparently the Wifi has all the same problems the old PetSafe Wireless has. Oh well, I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same. Check out the video review below.

I recently wrote an article explaining what holistic therapy is and what exactly it does for your dog. If you have sick dog this might be an option for you. I always say it is good to have options and then go from there with a clear head.

Here is the article on holistic therapies:

Holistic therapies, or natural therapies, have been used throughout history, and their popularity is on the rise. Many people who rely on natural therapies for their own health care are seeking the same treatment choices for their dogs. Because of this increase in demand by their clients, more vets are now offering these treatment options. Natural therapies can be a part of the treatment of many illnesses in your dog. However, some natural therapies can have side effects, so they need to be treated with respect.

How do you define a natural therapy? A natural therapy often uses a whole body approach to healing and tries to avoid the use of surgery or drugs. When given the right conditions, the body is able to heal itself, and this ability is a very important part of the effectiveness of natural therapies. Conventional treatments are usually used with in conjunction with natural treatments in dog care, although some people do prefer to use only natural remedies for their pets.

Choosing your pet can be very difficult. Whether it is your first pet or your third pet it all is a big decision. It is always good to have all your information that you are needing before you make this commitment. Finding the right fit with your family and the pet is the most important thing to consider. In the long run it will make theirs and your life a lot easier. Also, don’t forget to always ask lots of questions.

Here are some key tips on choosing your new pet:

Pets offer so much joy to a family, and can teach children to take responsibility for the well being of another living thing. However, it’s important that you give some thought to the type of pet you welcome into your home. You must select a pet that fits not only your lifestyle, but the size of your back yard and your budget.

Here are the things to consider before you choose a pet to join your family.
1. How big is your back yard? If you don’t have a big area for your pet to play, or you live in an apartment, it’s not a good idea to choose a large breed of dog. Cats don’t need as much space, and may be a better choice under these circumstances.

We all want to protect our pets from harmful things that could possibly harm them. This also means providing them with the proper nutrition. You might ask yourself, how do I do that? It is easier than you think. Now with the new year we are all trying to be in the best health we can possible be in. Be sure to include your pets in on this task. Make it a goal this year to also get your pets in the best health they can be in.

Here is the article I recently wrote for our friends at The Urban Mutt Blog on promoting nutrition and health in our furry friends:

As dog owners, we are responsible for taking care of our pets. This means controlling internal and external parasites, protecting him from infectious diseases with vaccination, and taking him to the vet when he’s ill. However, many people don’t recognize the importance of good nutrition in keeping our dogs in the best possible health.

The food your dog eats is the fuel that powers his body, and the nutrients in his diet allow him to function at his best. There is an ideal amount of each nutrient that your dog should eat per day, and deficiencies can be harmful. For example, too little calcium in a growing dog can lead to the bone disease known as rickets. On the other hand, he can also have too much of a good thing, with excess calcium intake in a pup being implicated in orthopedic conditions such as osteochondrosis dissecans. It’s important that you feed a nutritionally balanced food, to avoid such excesses and deficiencies.

I know that can get old really fast; especially when you have a pounding headache or are trying to concentrate on something important. You have to remember to try and be patient. There could be something wrong or your dog doesn’t have a real reason to bark. I am here to tell you that there are ways to train your dog to bark when necessary and when the barking needs to stop.

Here is a guest post I recently wrote for our friends at the Healthy Pet’s Blog:

All dogs bark, and they bark for a number of reasons. They may have nothing to do and are seeking some attention and entertainment, they may be cross that the neighbor’s cat is daring to step inside their backyard, or they could be feeling stressed and anxious. They could also be letting you know that someone suspicious is around – I’m quite happy for my dogs to bark under those circumstances!

Sometimes the barking can become excessive, and it can lead to disgruntled neighbors who are annoyed by the constant intrusion on their peace and quiet. What can you do if your dog is barking too much?

Happy Friday!!! We all want to share everything we have with our furry friends, but you could be feeding them something very deadly without even knowing it. You should always know all the ingredients that are in whatever you eat and your dog. You might think you are being helpful to your dog by just feeding him whatever you are eating but some of the ingredients in your food may not be healthy for them. I have seen it many times of a dog being brought in because they either got into something or their owner fed it to them not knowing it was harmful.

Here are all the safety tips on feeding your dog human food:

We all love to share our food with our dogs. Whether it’s a toast crust at the breakfast table or leftover casserole for dinner, the dogs seem to enjoy the treat.

There are some foods we eat that are potentially deadly to our dogs.

Most people know that chocolate is not good for dogs. The active ingredient, theobromine, can cause vomiting and diarrhea, and if your dog eats enough, may lead to seizures, coma and death. How much chocolate is too much? That depends on your dog’s weight, and the type of chocolate he’s eaten. Dark cooking chocolate contains the most theobromine – 1400mg per 100g of chocolate. The toxic dose of theobromine is 100-150mg per kilo body weight. So, if you do the mathematics, half of a 250g block of dark chocolate is enough to make a 10kg, or 22lb, dog very sick indeed.

Homeopathy in dogs might be a topic that you are unaware of or might not know much about. I am here to help explain what it really is and how it can benefit your dog. It is important to know all your options when your dog is sick so you can make the best educated decision for them and their health. I am huge fan of this type of therapy treatment. I have seen many positive success stories from using it.

Here is the article on homeopathy therapy in dogs:

Homeopathyis a therapy that is very popular amongst dog owners. It’s non invasive, completely natural and there are no side effects.

This particular therapy has been used in people since 1796, when it was discovered by the German scientist, Samuel Hahnemann. At around the same time, Hahnemann was also using homeopathy in animals so it has been an option for our dogs for as long as it has been an option for people.

How does homeopathy work in our dogs? Those who practice homeopathy believe that illness is caused by any disturbance in the life force of the body. This means that a disease firstly affects the energy levels, then appears as a symptom. So, if you’re going to treat a disease, you can’t just treat the symptoms, you have to resolve the problems at the body’s energy level.

Obesity is an epidemic in this world that we have been dealing with for awhile. It is time to get educated on what obesity really is and the lasting effects it has on your body. It is sort of like that saying, “you are what you eat.” You can’t expect to put a bunch of junk in your body and wonder why you are so tired and can’t get anything done. This problem is also effecting our dogs. Dog obesity is on the rise and we need to something about it fast. Get educated on what you can do to help your dog.

Here is an article I wrote on the dangers of dog obesity:

We all love our dogs, but sometimes we can love them too much, by giving them too many treats and snacks. Obesity is a problem in over 40% of our pet dogs, and it causes a number of serious health issues.

The most obvious effect of excess weight is arthritis. Your dog’s four legs aren’t meant to carry too much excess weight. If they do, there is wear and tear on his joint cartilage, and the development of degenerative joint disease. This hurts. It’s not easy getting up in the morning, and going for his regular stroll isn’t as enjoyable as it used to be.
